What's New at the World Golf Hall of Fame When you visit the World Golf Hall of Fame, you will never know what you will see around the next corner. Special exhibits are planned throughout the year and new items are added on a regular basis giving you a reason to return again and again. New Jack Nicklaus Exhibit Artifacts: The third quarterly rotation of golf artifacts were recently placed in the “Jack Nicklaus: Golf’s Golden Champion” exhibition. These new items, which are scheduled to on display through August, include the set of MacGregor VIP irons Nicklaus used to win the 1976 PLAYERS Championship, the second of his record three titles in the event (1974, 1978). Joining those irons is another significant club in Nicklaus' run to his record 18 majors. The World Golf Hall of Fame is also showcasing the MacGregor Tommy Armour 945W driver Nicklaus used to win four major championships – the 1978 Open Championship, the 1980 U.S. Open and PGA Championship, and the 1986 Masters. Locker Additions: Nancy Lopez Nancy Lopez’ Black Saks Fifth Avenue Liancarlo dress she wore at an LPGA celebration for her Hall of Fame Induction, which took place at Tiffany’s in New York in 1987. Coming Soon: Bob Hope: Shanks For The Memory The World Golf Hall of Fame will feature one of golf’s greatest ambassadors in a special exhibition, “Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory,” that will open in conjunction with the 2008 World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony this November, 2008. The announcement was made at the 2008 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic hosted by George Lopez at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. “Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory” will be the Hall of Fame’s showcase member exhibition throughout 2009 and will offer the largest collection of Hope golf memorabilia ever available on public display. Sports Museum of America The World Golf Hall of Fame has joined in partnership with the Sports Museum of America (SmA) as a Founding Sports Partner. The relationship with the New York City-based, all-sports museum-experience will include a dedicated kiosk to the World Golf Hall of Fame and its members. As the one-and-only Hall of Fame dedicated to golf, the World Golf Hall of Fame will join over 50 single-sport Halls of Fame, National Governing Bodies, Museums and other sports organizations represented in the SmA, which will officially open in May 2008. Information about SmA can be found at www.sportsmuseum.com.
